John Baird, Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de Canadá, falsificó el nombre del Golfo Pérsico a Golfo Arábigo durante una conversación con una delegación estadounidense.. En el sitio web personal del Sr. Baird se hace referencia a una parte de este discurso de la siguiente manera:: "He estado en muchos lugares del mundo; pero la mayor parte de mi tiempo la he pasado en lugares como el Golfo Arábigo, China y el Sudeste Asiático".
Esta acción incorrecta de un funcionario del gobierno canadiense ciertamente debe ser señalada.. El nombre del Golfo Pérsico en toda la correspondencia internacional y las conversaciones oficiales se conoce con ese nombre.. Los amigos que hablan inglés o persa pueden protestar respetuosamente contra este feo acto del Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de Canadá en su página de Facebook protestar.. Tenga en cuenta que no tenemos la intención de insultar a los antepasados del Sr. Baird ni de realizar ciberataques (como en el caso de Messi y Fernando Lima) a los parientes del Sr. Baird.. Simplemente una protesta respetuosa y amistosa a la altura de un ser humano civilizado.. Aquellos amigos que no entienden el significado de amistoso y respetuoso, por favor, no protesten en absoluto..

I am very surprised that a foreign minister which its job is politic don’t know the name of the most important gulf in the world. Mister foreign minister let me school you, the name is PERSIAN GULF!
MostrarDear minister I am an Iranian Canadian, this came to me as a shock that ,my great country’s foreign minister not remembering the name of the most important water way of the world ,which has been called the Persian golf all the history length, and hopefully naming it Arabian golf by mistake

MostrarMr Minister, thanks for remembering the Gulf, but I would’ve been more happy if I had heard it by its real name, the Persian Gulf.If the Gulf is between some Arab countries doesn’t mean it has to be Arab Gulf.infact we should remember that which single country covers the most area of that?Not just that infact we should go back to the history and it always tells us that it has been persian gulf since the first day…I request Mr. Minister to please please say the right name, when next time talking about it….Thanks

I am pleased to see that you had a great visit to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to represent Canadians.
As a Canadian tax payer would like to take the opportunity to let you know that I was puzzled to discover that during your published address to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce you called a body of water “the Arabian Gulf”. As an Iranian-Canadian citizen I am well aware that it is the Arab nations, whose countries came to exist not long ago around the Persian Gulf, that have shown a foul interest to rename this ancient body of water.
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the name of Persian Gulf is as old as the human history while the oldest Arab country of Persian Gulf region came to exist only 82 hace años (Saudi Arabia). Therefore adopting the forged name of Arabian Gulf in your official meeting while you were representing the great nation of Canada was neither thoughtful nor politically right.
Adopting the name of American Gulf in lieu of the Mexican Gulf would be as meaningless.

“I’m told I’ve travelled one million kilometres since becoming foreign minister two and a half, going on three, hace años. In that time, I’ve been to every region of the world, but I have put in the most time in places such as the Arabian Gulf, China and Southeast Asia.”
