Mr Minister, thanks for remembering the Gulf, but I would’ve been more happy if I had heard it by its real name, the Persian Gulf.If the Gulf is between some Arab countries doesn’t mean it has to be Arab Gulf.infact we should remember that which single country covers the most area of that?Not just that infact we should go back to the history and it always tells us that it has been persian gulf since the first day…I request Mr. Minister to please please say the right name, when next time talking about it….Thanks

Honorable Mr John Baird,

I am pleased to see that you had a great visit to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to represent Canadians.

As a Canadian tax payer would like to take the opportunity to let you know that I was puzzled to discover that during your published address to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce you called a body of water “the Arabian Gulf”. As an Iranian-Canadian citizen I am well aware that it is the Arab nations, whose countries came to exist not long ago around the Persian Gulf, that have shown a foul interest to rename this ancient body of water.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the name of Persian Gulf is as old as the human history while the oldest Arab country of Persian Gulf region came to exist only 82 多年前 (Saudi Arabia). Therefore adopting the forged name of Arabian Gulf in your official meeting while you were representing the great nation of Canada was neither thoughtful nor politically right.

Adopting the name of American Gulf in lieu of the Mexican Gulf would be as meaningless.
